Izmer is an academician-artist whose education background encompasses both studio-practice as well as scholarly research. He holds a BFA (1993) and MFA (1996), specializing in painting. In 2008 Izmer completed his PhD in Art History, investigating the discourse of the body in modern Malaysian Art.
